In 1994 or 1995, the Mariah Carey Internet Fan Organization was formed. I was the 22nd out of probably thousands to sign up as a display of our enthusiasm and interest. Signing up is easy, but getting from anywhere in the world to New York City during the academic year is no small task. It's also no small task for a college student or other young adult to be able to afford the traveling. It was very much worth it though. This narrowed it down to about 7 fans on October 4, 1997 in NYC.
These are some photos I took at The First Fan Meeting of the Mariah Carey Internet Fan Organization. We had a great time and pioneered the way for a much bigger and more organized meeting in the future. This page is not official, but rather the result of a personal need to organize my photos and thoughts and keep my webpages interesting.
For me, it was a chance to meet up with people who's names I've seen on the vision mailing list since 1993. It was also a great opportunity to see the sights of New York City with a group of very nice people with a very worthy theme. I'd highly recommend this sort of thing to anybody in the future.
